广州若干天小记（二）

Typing skills are required in the TOEFL, thus I'm adjusting myself to typing.

It has been a long time since my last article was published.

During this period, I made some visits to some shopping centers.

As far as I'm concerned, IKEA（宜家家居） is where I consider to be one of the most worth-going places in Guangzhou. I, together with my mom & sister, went there someday afternoon. What attracts me is the north-European style, that is, the light color and its simplicity. It reminds me of the covers of DUSHU magazine（《读书》）. We bought some nice stuff, which, of course, is made in China nine out of ten.

Grandview Plaza（正佳广场） is the 2nd mall I've entered. Compared with Tee Mall（天河城）, Grandview is bigger but more disorganized. You can find KFC underground while Starbucks & Haagen-Dazs are outside and Pizza Hut lies on 3rd floor. By contrast, in Tee Mall, the food service is gathered on a certain floor, except Starbucks & Haagen-Dazs (they're in-door). Also, in my opinion, the supermarket in Grandview is more inconvenient than that in Tee Mall, JUSCO（吉之岛）. When I was in Starbucks, I asked the waiter for a Guangzhou Cup, which could be a memorial. He said the old ones had been sold out, and the new-designed ones would be on sale in a couple of days. What's more, he even took out a new cup from a cupboard to show it to me. Whereas, I was told I couldn't purchase it. It seemed amusing.

Book center in a metropolitan is always an attraction to me. It is always so big that I always have a glance of those various books in a hurry. This time, I chose to concentrate on a certain bookstore, the SDX Bookstore（三联书店） on the 3rd floor. Personally speaking, the books published by SDX is of great quality, not only the papers but the contents. As the time was limited, I didn't cover the whole store. However, I found many interesting books & magazines, which, were imported.

Yesterday afternoon, I registered the SAT. I chose to take the exam in HKFYG LEE SHAU KEE COLLEGE, NT on Dec 6. Later, I realized I had made a unwise decision. I looked the college up in Google Maps, finding it lies far away from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I thought they were close for both of them locates in New Territory. What made me more depressed was that another test center, Sha Tin College, was just near CUHK. I gave up changing my test center because another $22 should be paid if I insisted on change.

I've got some information regarding the SAT training. I will be absent from school for a long time. And from Sep 8 to Oct 11, I'll be in Hangzhou.

The day before yesterday, my family went to have dinner in Guangzhou Restaurant（广州酒家）, which was established in 1935. Yummy. There is a Starbucks hiding in the plaza. I went to see if there is a Guangzhou Cup. Surprisingly, the waitress showed me the former-style ones. They're much more brilliant than the new ones, to my understanding.
